Bristol Cycling Development Squad (BCDS), promoters of the Junior Tour of Mendip, have announced a new sponsorship partnership for the 2019 edition of the race: cycle cleaning and lubrication specialists Fenwick’s will be the lead sponsor of this year’s event.

Fenwick’s – who have for over 20 years engineered products to help cyclists enjoy better and longer journeys, though a range of cleaning and lubrication products – have agreed to partner with BCDS for April’s race, which is part of the British Cycling Junior National Series.

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce our partnership with such a big player in the UK cycle scene for this year’s race,” said Steve Marshall, Race Organiser. “Fenwick’s truly is a brand that our riders know and respect, not only for the products but the support offered to so many of the UK’s top teams, including Storey Racing.”

Fenwick’s will become the title sponsor in a deal which secures the future of the event, which is now in its eighth year. Since its inception, the race has played an important part in the development of many of the UK’s up and coming riders such as Scott Davies, Jon Dibben and Charlie Tanfield.

“Were looking forward to working with the race’s organising team at Bristol Cycling Development Squad for this year’s race,” said Jonathon Smith, Managing Director at Fenwick’s. “We’ve been aware of the event over the last few years, so when we heard that the organisers were looking for a new title sponsor we were very keen to get involved in supporting a fantastic event that plays a vital role in in the early development of young racers.”

The Fenwick’s Junior Tour of Mendip will take place just south of Bristol on the Mendip Hills on the weekend of the 13/14th April 2019, with riders using many of the rolling roads that featured in the Tour of Britain, which most recently passed through the region back in September 2018.
